Linda Wigington, ACI director of deep energy reduction initiatives, will travel to Boston, MA next week to present at the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association's (NESEA) BuildingEnergy 13 conference. Wigington will offer a workshop on deep energy retrofits, as well as two educational sessions; one also on deep energy retrofits, and the other on the feasibility of heat pump water heaters in cold climates.
Amy Fazio, chief executive officer of ACI, is among the featured leaders on the SeeWomenLead YouTube project, founded by Ann Edminster, Christine Magar, and Karen Tucker. The project was launched in 2012 as a means to promote women's leadership and help women showcase their own accomplishments.
ACI Brings Together Leading Manufacturers for Meeting in Detroit
Pittsburgh, PA, January 25, 2013—ACI (Affordable Comfort, Inc.) held the first of a series of Community of Interest meetings in Detroit, MI this week, bringing together leading manufacturers in the home performance industry. Representatives from Carrier, Dow, Panasonic, Zehnder America, Inc., and Knauf Insulation were present to discuss the industry’s future and establish the purpose and direction of this Community of Interest group.
Carla Maxwell, program development manager for ACI, was recently selected to serve as a member of the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) ISPQ Credentialing Program Standard 01022 Working Group, which aims to review, revise, and release the updated Standard later this year.
"I'm honored and excited to be a part of this group," Maxwell said. "I'm really looking forward to contributing my expertise to advance the energy efficiency and renewable energy industries.
In this month's issue of Home Energy Magazine, DEAP Energy Group partners Paul Eldrenkamp and Mike Duclous highlighted three projects that have undergone deep energy retrofits, among them one home that met ACI's 1000 Home Challenge in 2011.
