CONS 6 - Our Youth as Energy Efficiency Advocates
Wednesday, April 25, 2007 · 3:30 PM - 5:10 PM
Young people have the capacity for educating their elders about energy efficiency and advocating energy efficient approaches. When well supported, students can understand and communicate the link between energy and the environment. Leaders in two programs that tap into this potential, the Alliance to Save Energy’s Green Schools Program and the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project, will provide case studies and instructional tools.
As a result of this session participants will
- Realize the potential students have for promoting energy efficiency initiatives at home and school
- Be aware of several instances where students have been active in energy management initiatives at home and school
- Become familiar with the educational materials and tools focused on energy efficiency and conservation for K-12 students
