Explore the world of window flashing through the adventures of a forensic architect. The single most common source of water intrusion is improper installation or absence of flashing at windows and doors. This can go undetected for many years resulting in significant deterioration of the structure. Learn simple flashing techniques that take advantage of newer building materials and prevent detrimental leakage. No prior technical knowledge is needed for this session.
 
By attending the session, participants will
 
  1. Learn the fundamentals of window / door flashing, it’s history, and why we flash
  2. Reviewthe ICC model code requirements for window and door flashing
  3. Explore a variety of flashing techniques and materials
