ACI Home Performance Conference 2007
BYND 2 - Surprising Electric Baseload Uses
Tuesday, April 24, 2007 · 1:30 PM - 3:10 PM
Baseload surprises come in the guise of “gizmos”, how they are used, how use is measured, and their impacts – both small and large. We’ll discuss examples of each including pumps, dehumidifiers, hot water, diagnostic tools, feedback devices, and more. We’ll also provide some context for why it is important to recognize and act upon opportunities for baseload savings. It is one thing to be surprised, it is more important to act appropriately.
By attending this session, participants will
- Acquire insights into residential uses and abuses of electricity
- Develop an appreciation for the consequences of electrical energy use beyond ratepayer economics
- Be entertained with examples and stories of ways in which a customer’s baseload consumption managed to confound the investigator, at least temporarily
