LOAD 8 - Trends in Efficient Lighting: What Products are Available

Thursday, August 17, 2006  ·  1:30 PM - 3:00 PM

This session will examine how efficient lighting products have changed in recent years, providing programs with greater opportunities to supply cost-effective ways to reduce client electricity bills. Which products are most appropriate for which applications? What efficient lighting solutions beyond screw-based compact fluorescent bulbs can be used to deliver cost-effective savings - such as hardwire and portable fixtures, and controls (e.g., photo and motion sensors)? This session will also examine what lighting technologies may emerge in the future that may make sense incorporating into program product menus. Will LED and / or cold cathode products find appropriate residential uses?

By attending this session, participants will

1. Understand proper applications for these products and installations to avoid
2. Get excited about using or recommending additional products to reduce
lighting loads and recognize cost-effective applications for five new
products
3. Discover additional lighting measures that have the potential to be cost
      effective in their programs
