Measuring Airflow in Ducts (Hands-on)
Are
you troubleshooting comfort complaints and wondering if the delivered airflow to the uncomfortable zone is adequate? Are you concerned about the amount of
heating and cooling the system can deliver based on actual air handler flow? Do you need to find out how to verify the performance of your (or someone
else’s) duct design and installation? If so, this session is for you. Each participant will measure flow in an actual duct system (in a classroom) using a
wide variety of tools and techniques. We will measure flow in and out of the duct system.
By attending this session, participants will
1. Explore the basics of airflow in duct work, including the relationship of pressure, resistance, and
airflow
2. Understand the factors that influence the accuracy of flow
measurement devices
3. Learn low cost ways of measuring airflow
