Thursday, April 10, 2008 · 8:30 AM - 10:10 AM
Briefly review theory, history, advantages, design, and installation in this introduction to radiant heating and cooling systems. Explore types of systems including floor, wall, and ceiling applications. Recognize the steps involved in system design. Learn about heating and cooling energy sources, equipment, and some basic piping configurations. This session stands alone or builds a foundation for the Thursday afternoon short course, Radiant Heating & Cooling: Design & Components (ThPM 05).
By attending this session, participants will
- Be able to identify basic steps and methods used in designing radiant heating and cooling systems
- Recognize different types of radiant heating and cooling panels and typical applications and features
- Be able to detect different heating and cooling energy sources and equipment and how they interface with the radiant heat system
