COMF 2 - Ductless (Mini-Split) Heat Pumps: Everywhere But Here

Tuesday, April 08, 2008  ·  1:30 PM - 3:10 PM

In Asia and Europe, ductless split heat pumps have become the preferred heating and cooling systems. In North America, ductless heat pumps (DHPs) have been relegated to niche applications despite superior efficiencies and the savings from going ductless. Early experience in this country suggests that we are greatly underestimating potential applications for DHPs and their potency. Explore and discuss the new DHP technology, performance, savings, and applications in typical North American housing.

By attending this session, participants will

  1. Learn about ductless split systems and applications
  2. Become informed about the benefits of these ultra-high energy efficiency systems for both cooling and heating
  3. Discuss the experience and opportunities and / or barriers for this promising technology for North American housing
