MAM 05 - Best Ventilation Practices for High Performance Homes
Monday, April 27, 2009 · 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
This session is intended to provide the attendees with a basic understanding of how the ventilation system interacts with other systems in the house and with the house itself. It will cover code-minimum requirements as well as the ASHRAE 62.2-2007 requirements used in most green building programs in the U.S. Attendees should already have an understanding of how buildings react to both positive and negative pressures and why we need mechanical ventilation in virtually all homes.
By attending this session, participants will
- Gain a better understanding of why and when we need to provide mechanical ventilation
- Learn some of the basic requirements in ANSI / ASHRAE 62.2-2007
- Better understand how ventilation interacts with other mechanical systems and the building itself
