COMF 6 - Mechanical Solutions for Humidity Control
Wednesday, April 29, 2009 · 2:00 PM - 3:40 PM
Whether you are trying to minimize central air conditioning during humid summers or addressing mold in wet basements or finished below grade spaces, indoor humidity control can be problematic. That gets worse when building efficiency measures further reduce the sensible cooling load or under part-load conditions when latent loads dominate, such as swing seasons, summer nights, and rainy periods. This session is for people with intermediate to advanced HVAC experience. Explore the principles and practices to accomplish year round humidity control, including an introduction to new equipment.
By attending this session, participants will
- Learn the principles of indoor moisture load analysis and control
- Find out how different cooling and dehumidification equipment handle moisture loads
- Become familiar with best practice solutions for indoor humidity control, and get acquainted with a variety of systems and equipment
