BLD 6 - Durable Wall Systems

Wall durability is achieved through a wide range of requirements. Explore what it takes to attain durable walls in extreme climates of extreme clients (and everywhere else). The basic deterioration mechanisms will be introduced, followed by general strategies. Learn how to utilize these strategies in energy efficient buildings. Retrofit and new enclosure wall case studies will be presented.
 
By attending this session, participants will
 
       1.     Learn the deterioration mechanisms that limit durability
       2.     Understand the strategies needed to develop durable new and retrofit walls
       3.     Be able to design / specify a durable and energy efficient wall system
