ACI Home Performance Conference 2007
HOT 2 - Cooling the Frostbelt: Central AC in the North
Tuesday, April 24, 2007 · 1:30 PM - 3:10 PM
This session is devoted to air conditioning in northern tier homes, where most new homes now have central AC, and summer cooling loads are a major contributor to the need for new power plants. Explore monitored data on how these systems are used and how sizing affects their performance. Find out how the new SEER-13 standard is affecting the market for central AC, and what this means about promoting higher SEERs and high-end, multi-stage equipment.
By attending this session, participants will
- Better understand how central AC systems are used in northern tier homes
- Recognize what is important for energy and comfort performance in specifying and sizing central ACs for these climates
- Gain an appreciation for the current state of the central AC market in the north.
