Mechanical Ventilation Systems: Verifying Performance (In-field)

Learn how to inspect and measure the performance of mechanical ventilation systems. Use the tools, perform the tests, and discuss the results! Ensure that the systems provide adequate airflow, proper operational control, and adequate distribution of ventilation air, while avoiding pressurization/depressurization problems. This session will cover central distributed and spot ventilation equipment and systems.

By attending this session, participants will

1. Recognize the value and the importance of verifying mechanical ventilation system performance

2. Begin to be able to conduct the diagnostic tests used to verify that a mechanical ventilation system is properly designed and performing effectively

3. Learn field installation, flow measuring and balancing, commissioning, and troubleshooting practices that ensure the proper functioning of mechanical ventilation systems

Keywords: mechanical ventilation, airflow, commissioning, design, diagnostics, distribution, ductwork, HVAC, installation, performance, pressurization
