Diagnosing High Efficiency Gas Heating Systems

Gas fired appliances have come a long way from the old converted gravity coal systems of yesterday. This session will cover the advances in warm air residential heating appliances over the years, how to identify them, diagnose repairs when they (sometimes) don’t work, and some tips regarding set up and maintenance. This session will be good for beginning and intermediate field technicians. (This session is a repeat of the AC session offered in ’03 and ’04 with updates.)

By attending this session, participants will

1. Identify the similarities and differences between older gas fired furnaces and new high efficiency units

2. Be able to diagnose problems with high efficiency furnaces

3. Learn to communicate with a heating contractor better when there are problems with this type of furnace
