AUD 1 - Energy Performance Scoring of Existing Homes
Tuesday, April 28, 2009 · 10:00 AM - 11:45 AM
What are the issues of auditing, calculating, and reporting a home’s energy performance? Which metrics point us in the right direction? A pilot of the Energy Performance Score (EPS) has been conducted in Portland, Oregon to create an MPG-type score for energy use and carbon emissions of new and existing homes.
By attending this session, participants will
- Recognize the potential value and limitations of an accurate energy performance scoring system for existing homes
- Learn why there’s no perfect scoring system and how issues such as house size and fuel choices create a minefield
- Be able to identify the difference between scoring a home and scoring a household
