Thursday, February 11, 2010  ·  1:30 PM - 3:00 PM

Are small houses as simple as they seem? The ranch house can have simple problems with difficult solutions. How even the easy house on the outside can become very complex on the inside will be addressed. This session will point out the quick fixes and what structural shortcuts should be identified. Indoor air quality concerns including the potential for backdrafting will be discussed.

By attending this session, participants will

  1. Learn about common bypasses built into ranch houses and how to fix them
  2. Explore house designs that create thermal problems, which in turn can cause indoor air quality concerns
  3. Understand why these homes cannot be seen as quick and easy jobs and how to deal with them more effectively
