Wholistic Approaches to CO

Protecting ourselves and our clients from the hazards of carbon monoxide (CO) will continue to be a struggle as long as we live with combustion appliances and internal combustion engines. What is the best comprehensive approach for keeping our appliances and homes safe from this potential hazard? Gain insight into the physiology of CO, ambient and appliance emission guidelines, measurement methods and tools, and CO alarms. Case studies will demonstrate the importance of a wholistic approach to combating the dangers of CO.

By attending this session, participants will

1. Learn about the harmful physiological affects of low- and high-level CO poisoning

2. Understand the importance of testing combustion appliances for CO emissions, including where and how to test

3. Know what the manufacturers’ and site-testing guidelines are for CO emissions
