Doug Garrett has a multidisciplinary background. He has been a contractor, a program manager for the City of Austin electric utility energy conservation programs, and is now a consultant. Through this work he has been a part of weatherizing tens of thousands of homes, occasionally writes articles, and enjoys field diagnostic work to figure out why a home or building is not working up to expectations. Doug is an ACCA certified instructor for Manuals J, D, and S, the Texas State Energy Conservation Office’s trainer for the IECC, and the Texas Association of Builder’s trainer for water management issues.
