COMF 8 - It's Not the Heat, It's the Humidity

Thursday, April 26, 2007  ·  10:40 AM - 12:20 PM

Today's buildings often suffer from high humidity levels, with related IAQ and mold problems. Controlling humidity is critical to providing a healthy and comfortable indoor environment. This "crash course" in psychrometrics, dew points, and humidity control strategies will help you deliver real solutions for comfort, building durability, and IAQ. Contributors to humidity and moisture in the house system will be addressed, and strategies for control will be illustrated.

By attending this session, participants will
  1. Investigate the sources of humidity in homes and learn inspection / interview methods to evaluate and measure their effects
  2. Explore the use of psychrometrics in evaluating present conditions and the importance of comprehensive solutions in humidity control W
  3. Work through typical scenarios to develop implementation strategies and "sales triggers" / "communication points" to the consumer
