BAS 4 - Moisture Physics 101

Wednesday, April 25, 2007  ·  8:30 AM - 10:10 AM

The most common agent for durability and IAQ problems is moisture. This session will present the framework for understanding moisture in buildings, beginning with the primary moisture sources and their relative importance. Explore moisture transport mechanisms and how they work. Comprehend the significance of “moisture balance” as a new design and retrofit tool.

By attending this session, participants will
         1.   Be able to identify the primary moisture sources in buildings
         2.   Understand the mechanisms of moisture movement and their relative importance
         3.   Become proficient with the idea of moisture balance for new design and retrofit
