BAS 1 - Combustion Safety

Would you light a campfire on your basement floor to heat your house? Why not? What would you have to do to make this campfire safe? This workshop will address the basics of combustion safety, including clearances, proper venting of combustion by-products, hazards of carbon monoxide, equipment problems, and combustion safety testing.
By attending this session, participants will
- Understand the hazards of combustion appliances and why combustion safety testing should always be a part of house weatherization
- Discover what to look for in assessing combustion safety
- Learn the basics of combustion safety testing and analysis
