Weatherization Guidelines & Protocols in Transition (II-Green & Healthy)

Weatherization & Protocols in Transition Part II builds on the morning’s session TAM 10 and concentrates on health and renewable energy measures. These measures do not necessarily fall under current DOE Weatherization mandates; however, they are consistent with the broader interests of weatherization agencies. Cuyahoga County (Ohio) will present results from their integrated health (lead and mold remediation, integrated pest management, IAQ, resident health assessments) and energy 105 home weatherization pilot project. The Massachusetts Low Income Energy Affordability Network will share the investigation results and proposed measures for a three-year alternative energy and advanced energy efficiency measure investment pilot project.

By attending this session, participants will

1. Hear about the costs, results, training, and protocols for developing an integrated weatherization health and energy pilot project

2. Learn about alternative energy and advanced energy efficiency measures proposed for a renewable energy pilot project

3. Explore opportunities to integrate high performance green building best practices in weatherization programs

Keywords: cold climate, health and safety, low income, moisture, mold, weatherization, renewables, sick homes, solar, sustainability
