R&D 6 - Diagnostic Testing: How Much is Too Much

Thursday, April 22, 2010  ·  1:30 PM - 3:00 PM

  • Diagnostic testing of homes has provided the weatherization community a wide variety of benefits raging from improved savings, to higher levels of IAQ. Over the last 20 years, testing has become an integral part of most weatherization programs. Continuing the current level of testing in the face of rapid growth in the number of treated homes per year poses several potential problems including equipment costs, training, and the labor required for the testing. This session will explore strategies that can take what has been learned from 20 years of diagnostic testing to apply them to WX programs in ways that do not require the full testing of every home.

By attending this session, participants will
    1. Explore potential problems including equipment costs, training, and the labor required for the testing
    2. Discover tried and true diagnostic testing techiniques
