SUST 2

Five Solar Water Heater Programs & 1000 Installations Later

Evaluations of five utility sponsored solar water-heating programs provide insights on customer expectations and experiences, and solar system performance. Learn how participant’s expectations and experiences can further refine programs of this kind, improve customer education, and better market renewable programs. The impact evaluations include engineering analyses of the system’s performance, a billing analysis examining the change in customer’s bills, and additional analysis for the monitored systems.

By attending this session, participants will

1. Have a unique view of five utility sponsored programs on the east and west coast, both low income and open income programs, and nearly 1000 installations

2. Learn the results of a combined analysis of all programs, and a comparison of the system performance between programs

3. Learn how the monitoring and billing analysis coupled with the surveys are instructive for designing renewable resource programs
