MOBL 3 - Moving from Energy to Carbon

Tuesday, April 28, 2009  ·  3:35 PM - 5:15 PM

The issues, challenges, and opportunities in carbon reduction are presented within the context of energy consumption in the built environment. The energy industry must reshape its priorities based on new metrics such as cost per ton of carbon saved. How will different energy efficiency technologies fare under this new approach?  What kinds of opportunities for early adopters are being created by this inextricable link between energy and carbon?

By attending this session, participants will

  1. Understand global and national context of energy and impacts on carbon emissions
  2. Gain insight into cost per ton of carbon saved for different efficiency and solar technologies in different climates and generation mixes
  3. Realize the carbon mitigation opportunities that exist for the built environment that will become part of the market mechanisms

Type: 100 Minute Session
Track: Mobilizing Citizens, Communities, & Companies
