ACI Home Performance Conference 2009

PROG 2 - ENERGY STARŪ Homes: Predictions, Performance, & Real World Results

Tuesday, April 28, 2009  ·  1:30 PM - 3:10 PM

Separate studies in Phoenix and Houston have analyzed tens of thousands of homes and their actual energy consumption. This session presents the results of these studies and explores the performance differences between code-built, ENERGY STAR® and guaranteed performance homes. Evaluating homes programs with real world data allows us to compare actual versus predicted performance, as well as identify construction techniques and products that deliver truly energy efficient buildings.

By attending this session, participants will

  1. Hear how much energy homes built to the ENERGY STAR® standard -- as well as other energy standards -- actually use
  2. Learn about how the selected energy upgrades, housing unit types, and program standards affect energy usage
  3. Discuss and interpret the study’s finding and its relevance to other regions of the country and program design strategies

Type: 100 Minute Session
Track: Program Implementation
