Some benefits and costs of residential energy efficiency are relatively well-known, and incorporated in the metrics used by property owners, regulators, and utilities. Others are not widely known and often overlooked. This session will help people see a broader range of benefits in a more integrated program design context that includes the traditional considerations of the Total Resource Cost test plus the broader values associated with sustainable design.
By attending this session, participants will
1. Rethink their assumptions regarding program design constraints
2. Understand the interrelationship of energy efficiency, comfort, economic development, water conservation, and other benefits
3. Explore the relative values of certainty and innovation
