AIR 4 - Correcting Low Airflow

Thursday, February 07, 2008  ·  8:30 AM - 10:00 AM

Many homes have rooms that are not comfortable. This can be caused by improper insulation, unidentified air leaks, or pressure problems. The majority of the time it is caused by inadequate air flow from the mechanical system. This session will examine the proper methods to test air flow, the problems with the accuracy of each technique, and the many solutions for correcting low air flow situations.

By attending this session, participants will

1. Learn the relative importance of holes in duct systems depending on leak location and dominant load (heating or cooling)
2. Find out how to prioritize duct repairs and what to use to fix ducts
3. Recognize the importance of testing in and out (safety, savings, and crew motivation)
