• 2030 Challenge

  This website describes and supports architect Ed Mazria’s challenge of taking incremental but aggressive steps to ensure that all new buildings – and an equal number of existing buildings - be carbon neutral by 2030. It includes links to climate change research, supporting organizations, and lectures by Ed Mazria.

  This European website describes International Energy Agency research on adapting prefabricated building systems to low energy renovation of existing homes, especially “typical apartment blocks.”

• Industry Stakeholder Recommendations for DOE’s RD&D for Increasing Energy Efficiency in Existing Homes

  June 2007. P. Plympton and L. Dagher, National Renewable Energy Laboratory, and B. Zwack, Sentech, Inc. This 90-page NREL report summarizes feedback received from attendees at four national building and remodeling trade shows in 2005-06. Participants were asked to recommend any building products, tools or practices that they would like to see developed, improved, or researched.
