CARB 2 - Residential Efficiency Programs: Lessons Learned

Energy efficiency programs implemented over the past thirty years have generated a wealth of insight regarding program implementation and the challenge of accurately pedicting program impacts. Explore how lessons can be applied to carbon-oriented program design going forward. Issues addressing program design, implementation, and evaluation will be discussed. Find out why energy savings projections can be misleading. Examine a recent case study that combines energy and carbon in a strategy to lower greenhouse gas emissions from the burning of fossil fuels.
By attending this session, participants will
- Explore which measures programs really save and what the characteristics of are high saving and low saving programs
- Be able to able to identify the program elements that need to in place in order to insure that expected energy savings are achieved
- Learn about the expansion of residential program design that incorporates energy efficiency, renewable energy, and green products that create tangible energy savings and carbon reductions
