AFF 1 - Systematic Energy Savings in Housing Rehab Programs

Wednesday, April 21, 2010  ·  10:30 AM - 12:00 PM

The challenge in developing programs that actually deliver energy efficient and sustainable communities can be met in different ways. Housing rehabilitation programs that have used the Green Communities Initiative Criteria and the Affordable Housing Program of Wisconsin Focus on Energy demonstrate two very different models. Yet they have both employed fairly stringent requirements of varying types to get results. This session will look at the two program approaches, their application in the field, and try to identify best practices.

By attending this session, participants will

  1. View two program approaches to major rehab
  2. See the usefulness of providing aggressive, comprehensive guidance in getting good results
  3. Be able to better assess the training needs of all the players needed in this game
