FUND 6 - Fostering Behavior Change: From Energy Tips to Sustainability

Thursday, February 05, 2009  ·  1:20 PM - 2:50 PM

Tremendous resources are going into understanding, influencing, and measuring change in energy use behaviors. Connecting residents' self interests to the understandings and lifestyle skills that support lasting change is tricky. Where are you and your ‘communities’ on the continuum, and what’s the most compelling “ask” you’ve experienced? Slanted towards positive reinforcement and pre-emptive problem solving, we’ll look at some of the methods, media, and messages in play.

By attending this session, participants will

1. Examine the circumstances defining our efforts to reduce residential energy use
2. Consider points on the influencing continuum from energy-tips-gone-wrong to effective prioritizing strategies
3. Explore resources and methods focused on behavior change
