FUND 3 - Cost Effectiveness & Energy Efficiency for Non Nerds
Wednesday, February 21, 2007 · 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM
Find out why it takes more than energy saving widgets to achieve energy efficiency. To save energy and be cost effective, a measure must be used in an appropriate application, be installed correctly, and last as long as expected. In addition, savings estimates include assumptions about the installed costs and cost of conserved energy. On a household level, the home’s energy use can reveal the potential for savings. Fine tune your ability to distinguish between fact and fiction of energy saving claims.
By attending this session, participants will
- Understand the principles that determine residential cost effectiveness and opportunities for energy efficiency
- Increase your ability to identify faulty energy saving claims
- Recognize that energy efficiency can be achieved by making sure existing measures / systems perform effectively, not just by installing widgets
