When Does a Moisture Problem Become a Mold Problem?

Everyone knows that molds need moisture and that damp buildings get moldy, but just how wet and how moldy depends on a number of factors. Laboratory experiments and field observations are used to generate a better understanding of bio-decay and the building envelope.

By attending this session, participants will

1. Understand the technical side of the relationship between damp building envelopes and mold problems

2. Learn the do's and don'ts of corrective measures for moisture/mold problems

3. Be able to critically evaluate mold and moisture reports generated by outside consultants

Keywords: moisture, building envelope, IAQ, building products, durability, mold, rot

Type: 100 Minute Session
