COMF 7 - Duct Design Strategies
Thursday, April 26, 2007 · 8:30 AM - 10:10 AM
We have learned to seal ducts, but now we need to ask, are they the right size? Will the system function within the desired range of static pressure and air flow? Will there be any throw at the end of the run? Explore duct sizing criteria, challenges posed by energy efficient homes, and approaches using ACCA Manual D and S.
By attending this session, participants will
1. Understand basic design principals outlined in Manual D
2. Examine design strategies based on duct length, friction, and velocity
3. Find out why more emphasis on building integration may actually save the day when duct system performance looks bad
