Chicago Rehab Projects with Proven Results

All aspects of multifamily building rehab should be examined to include energy efficient building measures. Wall insulation systems, air sealing techniques, and high efficiency heating systems will be discussed. Buildings that received an energy efficient rehab five to ten years ago were re-visited. Interviews with property managers were conducted. The goal of this work is to determine if the energy savings are persistent and if problems related to the energy efficient measures have occurred.

By attending this session, participants will

1. Learn about various insulation, air sealing, and mechanical measures that can be integrated as part of multifamily building rehab

2. Hear about buildings that received an energy efficient rehab five to ten years ago and how they are holding up

3. Understand how saving energy dollars helps provide and maintain affordable housing
