Applying NFPA 54 to Combustion Air
Buildings are
getting tighter. In light of this, the current 2002 Edition of the NFPA 54 code includes changes in regard to assessing whether a space can adequately
provide combustion and ventilation air for an appliance and also on how combustion air can be accessed if needed. For example, confined and unconfined space
and unusually tight construction definitions have been removed. This session is intended to address code requirements for combustion and ventilation air and
practical methods for making it happen.
By attending this session, participants
will
1. Be
exposed to concepts and operational characteristics of combustion appliances in regard to combustion air issues
2.
Learn what the NFPA 54 2002 (National Fuel Gas Code) has to say about
combustion and ventilation air
3. Find
out about practical application techniques for providing air to combustion appliances
