ACI New England Conference 2008

PRO 3 - Implementing the ASHRAE 62.2 Standard

Wednesday, October 08, 2008  ·  3:00 PM - 4:30 PM

Correctly designed and installed mechanical ventilation systems can improve air quality and prevent building failures. When done improperly, they can cause more problems than they solve and increase utility bills to boot. Learn about system design, installation details, controls, occupant education, and maintenance that make a big difference in long-term system performance and reliability. When an exhaust-only system is used, how can you prevent air from being pulled into the house from a garage or nasty crawl space? Find out how user-related problems can be minimized and receive an introduction to the ASHRAE Ventilation standard 62.2.

By attending this session, participants will

  1. Be aware of the potential and limitations of different types of mechanical ventilation systems
  2. Gain knowledge into installing systems that perform as expected over the long term
  3. Understand and anticipate the effect of pressure changes inside the home that may result from the addition of mechanical ventilation
