TPM E - Central Air & Heat Pumps: How Installation Affects Performance

Tuesday, October 05, 2004  ·  1:30 PM - 5:00 PM

In recent field research, ninety percent of residential air conditioning units had either the incorrect charge or incorrect airflow. This session will deal with key issues, from system selection and design to installation and performance testing, to help ensure that systems work as intended.

By attending this session, participants will
1. Be able to list the steps taken to properly design and select a system
2. Understand what field-practical tests can verify that a compressor-based system is operating within its design parameters
3. Understand why it is important to verify the performance of heat pump and central air conditioning systems
