With your help we can reach potential participants who may not be aware of what ACI has to offer. Some ways to "spread the word" are listed below. If you have other ideas for getting the word out, please let us know. Contact the marketing manager with your requests. We would be glad to help in any way we can.
1. "Recommended by my peers," is the most frequent response we get when we ask participants why they attend the ACI Conference. Please contact five people and encourage them to attend ACI. In addition, what opportunities exist within your own organization for potential conference participants?
o Are your peers, staff, and supervisors/management aware of the ACI Conference? Are they planning to attend?
o Are there misconceptions about the conference and its targeted audience? How can these be removed?
o Are people aware of the short courses and what they have to offer? What a bargain!
o Is this conference recognized as a training opportunity for new staff?
o Is the conference viewed as:
§ an investment rather than an expense?
§ an opportunity to make valuable contacts?
§ a way to get a jump on the learning curve?
o What can be done externally to encourage more support from your organization?
o If money is a barrier, how can resources be leveraged or expenses reduced?
o Who will benefit from your organization's attendance and increased effectiveness?
2. Distribute brochures to your mailing lists. Tell us how many brochures you need, a shipping address, and a brief description of the composition of your mailing list. Brochures will be available in mid January.
4. Take brochures or see that they are distributed to professional organizations or associations. Tell us what the organization is interested in and a date by which you would like to receive the flyers or brochures. Include the shipping address if it is different from yours.
5. Contact potential exhibitors and sponsors. Request an Exhibitors Packet from our office. Talk to the marketing manager about any leads or ideas you may have for leads.
6. Make personal contacts to encourage attendance. You are our strongest sales person. Show the brochure to your peers, talk about the conference, let your associates know about ACI! Invite five colleagues or associates. Your endorsement is valuable.
7. Emphasize the Continuing Education Credits offered at ACC. Contact a program staff person for further information or if you have suggestions about CEU's that could be offered.
8. Electronic options - Distribute AC announcements to list serves to which you belong. Link your website to the ACI website at www.affordablecomfort.org
