MPM 14 - Apples & Oranges: An Audit is Not a Rating & A Rating is Not an Audit (Energy Software Discussion)

Monday, April 27, 2009  ·  1:30 PM - 5:30 PM

One of the main things that distinguish home performance contracting from mainstream home improvement contracting is the comprehensive assessment that educates the customer on a wide range of measures to reduce energy consumption while addressing health and safety and building durability concerns. One objective of the comprehensive assessment is to provide the homeowner with a credible projection of energy savings. In recent years we have seen the introduction of sophisticated home performance auditing software that provides such energy savings projections and builds a financial analysis around them to show the customer the return on their investment. Find out how the Department of Energy’s Best Test Ex will apply to current software models. Discover current tools, barriers, and opportunities of available assessment tools.
