Monday, April 27, 2009 · 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM
There's only so far you can go with wall cavity insulation - heat loss through framing has a significant impact on overall wall performance. Modifying existing home walls to increase R value to 25 to 50 is being increasingly explored and demonstrated. Examine a variety of approaches to substantially increasing performance. What are the options for products and assemblies? What are the details that insure a durable, highly performing wall? How good is good enough?
By attending this session, participants will
- Be able to identify the benefits and key details that will help to insure a durable, high performance wall
- Evaluate different approaches to window and door installation for appropriateness to their jobs
- Understand criteria and constraints that effect the appropriateness of one wall insulation strategy over another
