HEAL 7 - Advanced Ventilation: Optimizing Excellent Indoor Air Quality

Thursday, April 30, 2009  ·  8:30 AM - 10:10 AM

Methods to reduce formaldehyde exposures in homes have focuses on dilution with outdoor air and source reduction. Explore the results from two case studies in North Carolina and California. Take advantage of this opportunity to assess outcomes from the uses of multiple ventilation and moisture management strategies.
By attending this session, participants will
  1. Discover why homes with operable windows but without mechanical ventilation systems are often under-ventilated and have elevated formaldehyde levels
  2. Learn real-world outcomes from testing a ventilation package in affordable high performance homes
  3. Explore the performance of different types of mechanical outdoor air ventilation systems, including the relative performance of those that operate intermittently

Type: 100 Minute Session
Track: Healthy Homes
