SHLL 7 - Thermal Defects: Case Studies from a Hot Dry Climate

Over the past eight years, the Arizona Energy Office, in partnership with Arizona utilities has made an extensive effort to address the issue of insulation performance in both new and existing housing. This session will provide a review of these efforts through IR images. Primary areas of focus will be on the building science and building techniques essential to increase insulation performance.

 

By attending this session, participants will

 

  1. Review key building science principles impacting insulation performance
  2. Be provided examples the most common defects and solutions
  3. Understand how IR can be used to document defects and solutions
