MOBL 6 - Occupant Feedback Mechanisms: Case Studies

This session will explore different aspects of feedback technologies and behavioral energy savings, such as program perspectives, technologies overview, and feedback applications, and discuss attainable energy savings from these technologies and programs. Energy Trust of Oregon will present findings from the Home Energy Monitor Pilot which analyzed actual energy savings from feedback devices. Positive Energy will present on their programs utilizing utility-based metering software to provide energy use feedback information to consumers.
By attending this session, participants will
1. Examine two organizations’ efforts at providing feedback information to reduce residential energy usage leveraging different technologies and program design
2. Obtain an overview of the different types of feedback technologies and programs emerging, and the range of features these may have and their different uses and values
3. Gain a further understanding of how these feedback technologies and delivery models can be used in energy efficiency programs
