ACI Home Performance Conference 2009
HOUS 6 - Leveraging Employers to Facilitate Efficient Affordable Housing
Wednesday, April 29, 2009 · 2:00 PM - 3:40 PM
Employer backed residential efficiency programs can improve cost-effectiveness and reach the hard-to-reach by engaging employers in a “non-conventional” benefits model. Discover how employers can recruit and educate employees about efficiency opportunities, program access, and financing, and in return improve employee morale and retention, reducing overhead. A current program in Arkansas accesses multiple households, many of which use the most energy per address. This aids in contractor recruiting and pricing by delivering bulk numbers of motivated customers, and the employee receives more disposable income, a higher quality of life, and easy access to financing. It’s a Win-Win-Win!
By attending this session, participants will
- Discover how to increase program cost-effectiveness and reach homeowners by the scores and hundreds through engaging employers as program partners and facilitators
- Learn to introduce employers to an economical method of employee retention by providing employees non-conventional benefits resulting in more disposable income, a higher quality of life, and a greener lifestyle
- Understand how to motivate employers to provide employee financing of energy improvements, such as establishing “Green Benefits Funds” and using payroll deduction agreements to repay the loans
