ACI Home Performance Conference 2009

FUND 6 - Baseload Basics

Wednesday, April 29, 2009  ·  2:00 PM - 3:40 PM

In many homes there is a significant opportunity to save energy by addressing the year-round uses of electricity. This is commonly called electric baseload. In fact, reducing electric baseload can sometimes be more effective at reducing total energy use than typical weatherization measures such as insulation and air sealing.

By attending this session, participants will

  1. Learn how to separate electric baseload from whole house electric use
  2. Explore how occupants, equipment, and use patterns affect electricity consumption
  3. Evaluate options and actions to reduce use
