HEAL 5 - Garage Connection
Wednesday, April 29, 2009 · 10:35 AM - 12:15 PM
Garages, either attached to houses or under them, often are a source of air quality problems in the house. Despite codes requiring good separation of the garage air space and the house indoor air, air from the garage often has easy access to the house. The pollutants in garage air, including carbon monoxide, benzene, and others, can cause illness or death. This session will describe the connections between garage and house air, and how to avoid problems in both new and existing houses.
By attending this session, participants will
1. Discover how garage air makes its way into houses
2. Find out what pollutants come with garage air
3. Hear about solutions in new and existing houses for keeping the house and garage separate
