FUND 5 - Energy Flow Fundamentals

Wednesday, April 29, 2009  ·  10:35 AM - 12:15 PM

What the heck is energy? How does it flow? The First Law of Thermodynamics states that energy is never lost, so why should we worry about conserving it? This fundamentals session will cut through the fancy terms and concepts to get at the basic universal truths about energy flow and use. We will talk about why nothing can happen without energy, the reasons air and heat flow the way they do in houses, the differences between site and source energy, and much more.

By attending this session, participants will

  1. Understand the basic principles of energy flow and transfer
  2. Learn to apply these principles to houses
  3. Explore how to reduce energy flows in your dwelling
