Wednesday, April 29, 2009  ·  8:30 AM - 10:10 AM

In order to more rapidly implement energy efficiency requirements in new home construction, some localities have been adopting the ENERGY STAR® Home program requirements as the minimum code for all builders.  For example, ten of the thirteen Long Island, NY townships have already written ENERGY STAR standards into their local construction codes. In this session, David Beaulieu of CSG will explain and discuss what is happening on Long Island regarding this code adoption strategy by communities. In addition, a representative from the national ENERGY STAR Home program will present the broader perspective of this trend.
